Mazatlan: Mexico All Inclusive Resorts or Intimate Cultural Experiences
There’s a reason why Mazatlan is nicknamed “the Pearl of the Pacific.” Mazatlan is one of Mexico’s closest destinations to the United States, and is often visited by cruise ship by travelers seeking a pampering all inclusive resort vacation, and those seeking an intimate cultural experience alike.
You can go both ways when planning a vacation to Mazatlan: if all inclusive resorts attract you, it’s definitely got its share. But Mazatlan also has a slew of villas, hotels and even private residences that are often available for short or long-term rent.
Mazatlan is the second largest city in the state of Sinaloa, and is located just across from the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula. The coasts of Mazatlan are lined with tons of all inclusive resorts and beachfront hotels.
If sport fishing is your flavor, Mazatlan is a great place to visit—in fact, the city was originally founded and inhabited by fishermen and Hollywood icons like John Wayne made a point of pumping up Mazatlan as a celebrity sport-fishing destination in its hey-day.
Best Times To Go:
Mazatlan’s climate is extremely temperate—most of the year it’s hovering between 55 and 85 degrees daily. There’s a distinct rain season that occurs July to September when the city is hottest and at its most humid. The rest of the year, Mazatlan boasts very arid climates and temperatures max out around 80 degrees.
Mazatlan’s palm-lined beaches are loaded with modern all inclusives and resort hotels, but the bulk of the city still exhibits tons of rich Mexican old-world charm. The harbor is bustling with historic attractions and culture, including the Faro lighthouse, the second largest in the world hovering almost 500 feet above the harbor.
In addition to the all inclusives, Mazatlan boasts a bunch of fun tourist attractions. If you’re looking for a fabulous golf destination, Lee Trevino and Robert Trent Jones Jr. have designed nationally recognized golf courses that overlook the ocean.
Additionally, there are many tequillarias, quaint shopping districts and the famous Pacifico Brewery calls Mazatlan home as well—and has since it was founded in 1900. Pacifico distributes beer throughout Mexico and the United States.
